One of the the actions that the University of Santiago de Compostela is conducting in favor of Galician healthcare Service in coordination with the Galician Government, is to produce sanitizer gel to distribute in health centers. This task is taking place at the Pilot Plant of the School of Engineering, where some of the biogroup researchers and lab technicians are working on to produce up to 9000 litres of this hydroalcoholic solution.

To carry out this process it has been essential to set up a working group formed by researchers from different fields (chemistry, engineering, biology, pharmacy). From biogroup, some professors and lab technicians are deeply involved.
