Alba Pedrouso

Postdoctoral Xunta de Galicia Fellow

Alba Pedrouso obtained his Degree in Chemical Engineering at the University of Santiago de Compostela in 2013 and the MSc in Chemical Engineering and Bioprocess in 2014. Then, I have joined the Biogroup to carry out my Master thesis focused on crude glycerol valorization to obtain biopolymers starting my research career. Since then, my research experience is focused on developing and optimizing innovative technologies and advanced bioprocesses for their application on wastewater treatment plants, making them more economical and environmentally sustainable. In December 2019, she defended her PhD thesis in Chemical and Environmental Engineering entitled “Assessment of the nitritation and anammox processes for mainstream wastewater treatment”. Later, Alba worked as PhD Project Manager in Cetaqua technological Centre, focused on recovering value-added products from agrofood wastes and biologically removing nutrients from wastewater.
From July 2021, I joined the Biogroup as Postdoctoral Xunta de Galicia Fellowship in the research lines of resource recovery from wastewater and autotrophic nitrogen removal.
