Most of the aforementioned research was focused on the valorization of agroindustry waste through pre-treatments to obtain high added value compounds, coupled with anaerobic biotechnologies, mainly anaerobic digestion for the conversion of organic substrates into biogas. These processes combine different bioprocesses to accomplish integral valorization processes, in accordance with the circular economy concepts.
