Carlos Esteven Pulgarín
PhD Candidate at University of Antioquia (Colombia)
Esteven is a Ph.D. (c) and has a Master's degree in Environmental Management and Sanitary Engineering from the University of Antioquia in Colombia. Additionally, he is a professor at the same university. His areas of interest include the treatment and utilization of organic waste such as food waste and sewage sludge, employing biological processes like anaerobic co-digestion, composting, and anaerobic digesters to recover methane gas and digestate for use as fertilizer or soil amendment. He has been involved in projects focused on energy and material recovery from waste generated in the cosmetic industry, as well as energy utilization from municipal sewage sludge. Steven has coordinated projects related to organic waste management, community gardens for waste utilization, and organic fertilizer production. He has published in indexed journals, written book chapters, and developed mobile application.
