Arianna Catenacci

Postdoctoral Researcher

Arianna Catenacci received a M.Sc. in Environmental Engineering (2009) and a Ph.D. in Environmental and Infrastructure Engineering (2014) from Politecnico di Milano. Between years 2014-2017, she worked for an environmental consulting company, and she came back to Politecnico di Milano for a post-Doc by mid-2017. Since January 2022 she is Junior Assistant Professor at Politecnico di Milano. Her main research activities deal with biological processes for wastewaters and organic wastes treatment and resources recovery, with focus on: (i) anaerobic digestion: process modelling and optimization of biogas production through pre-treatments and co-digestion; (ii) biological biogas upgrading; (iii) mixed-culture anaerobic fermentation; (iv) process modelling of aerobic granular sludge systems for wastewater treatment. During her academic career, she gained experience as teaching assistant of courses “Drinking water treatment plants”, “Wastewater treatment plants” and “Sanitary and environmental engineering.
