Mara Meitin
PhD Candidate
I graduated in Chemical Engineering from the University of Santiago de Compostela (USC), where I later completed a Master’s Degree in Chemical Engineering and Bioprocesses. Throughout these years, my academic path gradually shaped my interest in sustainability and circular economy strategies, particularly in the valorisation of organic waste streams through biotechnological processes. Over time, I became especially interested in biorefinery concepts and fermentation-based systems as tools to transform residual resources into value-added products. I will continue developing this research line within the European project ReWoW (Waste-of-Waste), focusing on biorefineries applied to Modular Adaptive Fermentation (MAF) systems, with the aim of contributing to more sustainable and circular bio-based processes.
