Jorge Rodríguez, Postdoctoral Fellow Xunta de Galicia at BioGroup, has received the Extraordinary Doctorate Award from the University of Santiago de Compostela in the field of Science and Engineering in which he achieved the best score  (97.04) in the Engineering sub-area.

This recognition has a special value due to the high level of competition of this call promoted by the USC, which this edition received close to 130 works.The award highlights the excellence and impact of his doctoral thesis (Conceptual design, operation and scale-up of photocatalytic processes integrating magnetic nanocomposites for the removal of micropollutants in wastewater) that was supervised by Prof. Maite Moreira and Prof. Gumersindo Feijoo in 2024.

The award was presented on July 9th, during a ceremony held at the Fonseca College in Santiago de Compostela.
