AgriLoop is an ambitious European initiative, funded by the European Union's Horizon Europe research and innovation program, dedicated to transforming agricultural waste into high-value products. This international endeavor aims to revolutionize circular agriculture by converting residues into sustainable, eco-friendly products. Spanning from laboratory experiments and in silico analyses to pilot-scale projects, AgriLoop unites 35 academic and private partners from across Europe and China. Together, they are committed to developing sustainable processes for transforming agri-food residues into valuable, environmentally friendly products suitable for food, feed, and bio-based materials.
The University of Santiago de Compostela (USC) plays a pivotal role in AgriLoop where the focus is on developing and applying Multi-Criteria Decision-Making tools. These tools are essential for identifying the most promising processing pathways, ensuring that the resulting bioproducts are not only environmentally friendly and safe to use, but also economically viable products.
