The Water-Energy-Food nexus ecolabel aims to be a certification instrument applied to seafood products, which play a key socio-economic role within the European Atlantic area. This ecolabel differs from others by considering, apart from the environmental impacts produced, the nutritional benefits associated with the consumption of this type of food. Its applicability covers the fisheries, aquaculture and seafood processing sectors, creating a valuable communication channel between producers and consumers through a single value that varies as a percentage represented in an easy-to-understand range of colours.
