Congratulations to Ana Arias for obtaining the highest qualification, the "Cum Laude" distinction in her Doctoral Thesis defense. Her work has been supervised by Prof. Gumersindo Feijoo and Prof. Maite Moreira. 

The objective of her thesis was to provide various case studies of waste valorization for the production of high added value products, under the approach of biorefinery and biotechnology processes. Specifically, waste from food, agriculture and forestry sector were evaluated from the point of view of sustainability and circularity.
