The PhD Candidate Andrea Penedo presented the seminar “Strategic design of olive pomace valorization supply chains using multiscale optimization,”. Her research is focused on the valorization of olive pomace generated by the olive oil industry. The work presents an integrated approach combining process simulation, life-cycle assessment, and mathematical optimization to identify economically and environmentally sustainable valorization strategies. Within the framework of the Agriloop project, the province of Lleida (Catalonia) was selected as a case study to evaluate different supply-chain configurations and valorization pathways.
