The potential of agri-food waste in the context of biorefinery for a circular bioeconomy

Ricardo Rebolledo defended today his Doctoral Thesis entitled "The potential of agri-food waste in the context of biorefinery for a circular bioeconomy". Her work was supervised by Prof. Maite Moreira and Associate Prof. Sara González.

Ricardo studied Industrial Engineering and MSc in Operation Management at University of Talca, Chile. He has diplomas in Strategies for a Circular Economy and Life Cycle Assessment at Universidad Andrés Bello, Chile. Ricardo has been prized with fellowship by National Agency for Research and Development (ANID) of Chile for his master studies. At the BioGroup he has been involved in the CerealMed project (Enhancing diversity in Mediterranean cereal farming system) focusing on the sustainability assessment of strategies for the recovery of agri-food waste under an integrated perspective of biorefinery and circular bioeconomy. Ricardo's research interests are Life Cycle Assessment (LCA), Eco-efficiency assessment, the joint use of LCA and Data Envelopment Analysis (LCA+DEA methods), multi-criteria decision analysis, and Circular Economy.
