Today, 9th June, Mateo Saavedra defended his Doctoral Thesis entitled "Knowledge integration to promote waste-to-PHA biorefineries", supervised by Assistant Prof. Miguel Mauricio and Associate Prof. Almudena Hospido. The commission was formed by Alan Gideon Werker, Consultant and co-owner at Promiko AB (Sweden), Associate Prof. Marta Carballa (Universidade de Santiago de Compostela) and Mathias Janssen, Senior Researcher at Division of Environmental Systems Analysis (Chalmers University of Technology - Sweden)

Mateo carried out his research work within USABLE project which aimed to develop high performance plastic packaging through a sustainable and fully circular value chain.
