On May 18th, the Rector's auditorium of the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB) will host the investiture ceremony of Juan M. Lema as Doctor Honoris Causa of the UAB. This award was proposed by the School of Engineering with the sponsorship of Professor Juan Antonio Baeza, current director of the Department of Chemical, Biological and Environmental Engineering. The event will take place at 12h and can also be followed on the UAB YouTube channel.
Juan M. Lema was closely linked to UAB where he spent 10 years at the beginning of his professional career. There, he was a lecturer in the Department of Chemical Engineering and directed the first research in the fields of environmental engineering and biological engineering.
This is already his fourth recognition as Honorary Doctor. First one was given by the Pontifical Catholic University of Valparaíso (Chile), then the Polytechnic University of Milan and finally the University of Valladolid in 2021.
