Heterotrophic bacteria can succesfully compite with nitrifiers for organic micropollutants removal

David Kennes has defended today March 25th, his Doctoral Thesis entitled “Understanding the enzymatic and cometabolic biotransformation of organic micropollutants under aerobic heterotrophic conditions”, supervised by Prof. Juan M. Lema and Prof. Marta Carballa.

The comission was formed by Prof. Francesca Malpei, Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering - Politecnico di Milano (Italy), Dr. Teresa Alvariño, Cetaqua Galicia Manager, Cetaqua-Water Technology Center (Spain) and Prof. Barth Smets, Department of Environmental Engineering - Technical University of Denmark (Denmark).
